THE SIXTEENTH HOUR

This is the sixteenth hour since Tan Hoon Cheng has been detained under draconian Internal Security Act.

An open signature campaign to urge the authority to release Tan Hoon Cheng and other detainees has been initiated by Gerakan. This open signature campaign will be supported by all divisions and branches of Gerakan.

Meanwhile, at 1.30 pm today, Gerakan’s leaders and members, will gather at Penang Gerakan’s headquarter, and will march about 1km to reach Sin Chew Daily’s Penang headquarter by 2.00 pm.

There will be a public gathering held outside the Sin Chew Daily’s head office, which urged the authority to release Tan Hoon Cheng and other detainees, unconditionally and immediately.

The public gathering is initiated by the friends of media, and the public is encouraging to take part in this event. Please wear in all black, and bring along a stock of rose.

Until this moment, there is a rumour spreading around that Hoon Cheng will be released before 4 pm today, at Bukit Aman.

As the rumour spelled out, apparently the Home Minister has given his green light to the release. Again, there is no official news confirmed the same.

Once again, VoiceOfPolitics urged the authority to release all the ISA detainees with immediate effect.
