Leadership in political party

Everyone is a stakeholder of any political party, even the fence sitter or apolitical.

Although it is the business of its members or delegates to elect their party leaderships, the outcomes of the party election certainly will have its impact on the society-at-large, as long as that political party is still relevant in the mainstream politics.

If a political party is being dominated by a particular leader for a long time, then the party’s image will be tainted, as if the party is incapable of grooming a better successor, or there is no room of democracy for others to outvote the incumbent.

Or, if a political party continuously getting itself in a prolonged internal conflicts, that will diminish the public confidence towards the party, as if the party is incapable of self-governance.

The members or the delegates may not welcome the outsiders to interfere or involve in the internal affairs of the party, but these outsiders are the stakeholders. When come to general election, the political parties are appealing the votes from their stakeholders.

If a political party consistently ignoring the wishes of the stakeholders in managing its internal affairs, then the stakeholders may deny this political party in the general election, and cause that political party become irrelevant in the mainstream politics.

As such, whether a political party shall allow a morally-tainted leader to remain as its Deputy President, or to allow an outdated leader continuously to abuse his powers and privileges to defend his presidency, or to put a tainted leader who involved in a money politics as a candidate of by-election, no political parties is affordable to ignore the public sentiments.

In politics, the stakeholders rule.

The political party shall not win the battle but lost the war.
